Lodging Tax Feature

Modified on Wed, 26 Nov at 11:23 AM

Properties in Iceland, can activate a feature in Travia, should include or exclude lodging tax.

A text as shown below, will advise agents if the feature has not been activated, that a tax may be charged on-site.

1. In your profile in Travia, click on My Properties and click on Detailed Information.

2. In Tax Settings, you can enable this feature.  Click on the Lodging Tax Feature Enabled

- If the lodging tax is included in your prices, click on Included and click on Save.  If you choose this option, a message in the booking process states that the lodging tax is included in the room price.

Also, if the lodging tax is excluded, you can choose how it's processed in your hotel system, included in the room price, or as a separate line.

NEW: You can also have different settings, dependent on data of validation. Please note that the system will allow you to have gaps in dates.

NEW: A text box will showcase the function of the setting.

NOTE: If you choose to exclude the lodging tax from the prices and if there is a setting in our PMS that automatically adds the lodging tax afterward to all Travia bookings, you will need to disable that so the lodging tax will not be displayed twice.

For GODO users: This is how it will be displayed.

 - If the tax is excluded and sent as a separate line:

 - If the tax is excluded but not sent as a separate line, then the lodging tax will be added to the room price (not as a separate line)

- An input field is available in booking from the property side, enabling the property manager to edit the lodging tax value. This applies only if the lodging tax is excluded from the room rate.

Please note existing bookings will not be automatically updated by Travia - when a change is applied. However, if an agent will update room nights, number of travellers or dates the new setting will take affect.
